How did you land a job with M&Co?
I graduated this summer with a degree in marketing so I had been applying like crazy for everything and anything fashion/marketing related. I applied to M&Co after seeing a job advert online, which I thought I wouldn’t even be considered for, and here I am working with the web team!
Favourite part of your job?
Seeing all the new stock coming in and knowing what collections and trends will be appearing on the high street before anyone else.
Least favourite part of your job?
I love my job but Chris Moyles is leaving Radio 1 soon so the drive to work is going to get pretty dull as I don’t have a CD player in the car to replace him with.
What’s the one item you can’t live without and why?
Post it notes because I leave myself notes all over the place, I have a mind like a sieve!
You’re stranded on a desert island and can only listen to one song forever and ever. What is it?
Lauryn Hill – Ex Factor
Chocolate or crisps?
Crisps – Kettle Chips are addictive!
Tea or coffee?
Magazines or books?
Definitely magazines, I’m forever cutting things out and making wish lists!
Ultimate holiday destination?
Ibiza. I love the glamour, fashion and 24 hour partying that goes on practically all year round and the sunset at Mambo is unbeatable.
What are you wearing today?
Today I’m wearing black high waisted jeans, a white lace blouse and leopard print sandals.
What is your favourite M&Co purchase ever?
When I was little I went to see my first concert (The Spice Girls!) wearing a palm tree print crop top from Kylie that I was in love with. I’m sure I’ve still got pictures of me wearing it, but those will remain hidden to save my embarrassment!
And the one item you’ll be buying from the current collection?
I’m loving this silver tweed jacket in the new collection.
If you had to pick a highlight of your time with M&Co so far it would be…
Well I’ve not been here long but I really enjoyed the range review last week when the buying team came up from London to show us the new collections and what to expect in the coming months.
Any tips for working in the fashion industry?
Work hard and apply everywhere because you never know when someone will take a chance on you. It worked for me!
