Meet our team: Ashley Campbell, Allocator for Plus, Petite, Boutique and Lingerie

Who are you and what do you do at M&Co?
I’m Ashley Campbell and I am the Allocator for Plus, Petite, Boutique and Lingerie.

Any nicknames?
I have a friend who is also called Ashley Campbell so amongst my friends I tend go by my middle name, Louise to save confusion!

How did you land a job with M&Co?
I graduated with a degree in Fashion Marketing and moved to London to work at Debenhams Head Office as an allocator.  After about 18 months I decided I wanted to move back to Glasgow and the position at M&Co just happened to come up so I applied right away!  I was delighted to be offered the job and moved back in December.

Favourite part of your job?
Getting to see new stock coming in every day and seeing what is planned for future collections.

Least favourite part of your job?
The not so reliable bus service!

What’s the one item you can’t live without?
My ipod, to keep me occupied on my journeys to and from work!

You’re stranded on a desert island and can only listen to one song forever and ever. What is it?
Anything by Florence and the Machine (I can’t decide on one!)

Chocolate or crisps?

Heels or flats?
Depends on the occasion – I love to wear killer heels on a night out but prefer brogues or pumps during the week

Tea or coffee?

Magazines or books?

Favourite cocktail?
French Martini

Ultimate holiday destination?
Ibiza – hopefully I will get back there this summer!

Who are your style icons?
Fearne Cotton, I would love her wardrobe!

What are you wearing today?
A red skater skirt, grey top, khaki cardigan and peacock print scarf which brightens up my outfit!

The most embarrassing thing you’ve ever worn?
When I was about 9 I had a pair of high heeled orange jelly sandals.  At the time I thought they were amazing!

And the one item you’ll be buying from the current collection?
At the moment I really like this floral peplum top…

If you had to pick a highlight of your time with M&Co so far it would be…
I have only been here for a couple of weeks so far but have really enjoyed getting to know the team, both in Glasgow and the London Buying Office.

Any tips for working in the fashion industry?
Be prepared to learn a lot of new things in a small space of time and don’t be afraid to ask questions!
