As a special Friday treat we will be introducing you to some of our favourite online fashion bloggers who have answered our probing questions to give you an insight into their world. This week we have chosen Emma, creator of Fashion Mommy, whose fab posts featuring our current trends and collections caught our eye…
Name Emma Iannarilli
Introduce us to your blog… Fashion-Mommy is a fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog from a full time mom of one.
What made you decide to start blogging? I was a teacher for 12 years, but suffered terrible post-natal depression after my child was born. I decided a change of direction was needed so I quit my job to be a full-time mom and then started fashion-mommy as a hobby. It took off in a way I never expected it to.
What’s your biggest achievement in the blogosphere? So many! Interviewing people like Coleen Rooney and Philip Armstrong, getting 15,000 hits in one day when James Corden tweeted about a post. Being shortlisted for a Britmums style blogger award…the list is endless.
Where do you look for inspiration when writing posts? Everywhere. I love celebrity style so I’m constantly inspired by things like the red carpet. Read Vogue and Grazia religiously, love the High Street. You can find inspiration in so many places.
Is blogging your day job or do you have another occupation? Blogging is my day job, but I have also recently become the editor of the Midlands and Derbyshire editions of the school magazine Primary Times.
Any favourite blogs/bloggers? I love the Midland girls Emily Jayne Image, Wardrobe Mag and Style Floozie. I also love Type and Talk and from frumpy to funky. There are just so many great blogs out there.
Tell us about your style… I’m definitely a dress kind of woman and prefer to be dressed up rather than casual. That said, last year I became addicted to coloured skinny jeans and have lived in them during the cold spell. Also rather partial to Vivienne Westwood shoes and Modalu bags.
What’s the one piece in your wardrobe you couldn’t live without? My wedge Ugg boots, they don’t actually look like Uggs and are fur lined so they look great, are really comfy, and you can literally walk for miles in them.
Share a style tip with us… If you like something and it suits you, buy it in every colour, You won’t regret it. I am currently collecting lace shift dresses in every shade which I am getting so much wear out of.
Do you prefer to shop online or in-store and why? Both! I love to shop the special offers online, and you often get to see the whole collection. But I love the thrill of a real shopping spree in store, with coffee and cake thrown in for good measure.
What’s your favourite piece from our current collections? I’m totally in love with the spot bodice dress which I featured on my blog last week.
The one trend you’ll be wearing this season is… Emerald green, the pantone shade for 2013. I love it!
