Introduce us to your blog…www.petitestyleonline.com helps petite women who are 5ft 3in and under to find stylish clothes that flatter and fits. The blog includes petite style tips, product reviews, petite celebrity style reviews, tips on how to wear the latest fashion and colour trends, plus inspirational style quotes.
What made you decide to start blogging? I work as an image consultant and personal stylist and was looking for a way to share my knowledge and expertise for petite style and fashion. Being petite myself, I know all the challenges that a petite woman faces.
What’s your biggest achievement in the blogosphere? Being on the first page of Google when you type “petite style blog uk”. I’m number 7 on the list, but hope to work my way up to the number one spot!
Where do you look for inspiration when writing posts? I’m a big fan of online reading. I get inspiration from the daily newspaper websites, fashion and style websites and other petite blogs. I also visit the high street on a weekly basis for inspiration.
Is blogging your day job or do you have another occupation? I work as an Image Consultant and Personal Stylist so blogging is part of my day job 🙂
Tell us about your style… I prefer classic styles which will last for years but I also love bright colours. When I buy an item, I always check that I can create a minimum of 3 outfits from it. If I can’t, I leave it in the store.
What’s the one piece in your wardrobe you couldn’t live without? My asymmetric pink and grey stripe dress. I bought it years ago in the sale for £35. It hides my lumps and bumps, is machine washable and doesn’t need any ironing!
Who are your style icons? My favourite style icons are Eva Longoria and Victoria Beckham.
How would you describe M&Co’s style? Evolving. I’ve noticed that M&Co are starting to create more fashion forward pieces. I also love the fact that they have a petite clothing range.
What’s your favourite piece from our current collections? Ooh, that’s a tough question. If I had to choose one, it would be the Petite beaded neckline maxi dress which can be easily dressed up or down through the use of accessories.
Do you prefer to shop online or in-store and why? A bit of both. I tend to create my shopping list online and then “click and collect” in-store where possible. This enables me shop from the whole collection rather than what’s available in a particular store.
I’m happy to order items online if a clothing retailer offers free P&P and free returns. Sizing can be difficult when ordering online so I usually pay on my credit card and order an item in 2 sizes and return the size that doesn’t fit.
The one trend you’ll be wearing this season is… Monochrome. It’s a classic trend that will never go out of fashion.
