Feature Friday Blogger: Rhyme and Ribbons

Amanda Rhyme and Ribbons

Name: Amanda

Introduce us to your blog: Rhyme & Ribbons documents the large and small events in my life. From travels to new places, to recipe experimentation.

What made you decide to start blogging? I was a blog reader long before I started blogging myself. For me, it was a creative outlet that I started when I had a lot of free time after finishing grad school, being about to move somewhere new and not having a job yet.

Tell us about your style… I like bringing touches of retro style (especially the 60s) to my wardrobe without looking too costumey. Comfort is key to me so I wear lots of soft fabrics, and I almost always opt for a ballet flat over a heel.

Where do you get your wardrobe inspiration?  Like a lot of women these days, I am addicted to browsing Pinterest and I get a lot of outfit inspiration from there.

Is blogging your day job or do you have another occupation? I work as the London Location Coordinator for an interning abroad program.

If you could meet any top blogger, who would it be and why? Elsie from A Beautiful Mess for her awesome DIY/cooking skills. And Blair from Atlantic-Pacific for her ability to rock every single outfit she wears!

What style are you currently obsessed with? Right now I’m loving a thick, soft cozy knit especially in shades of light grey. And I always love some statement jewellery!

What’s the one beauty product you couldn’t live without and why? Mascara. I don’t wear tons of makeup, but a swipe of mascara instantly makes me feel like I look more alert and polished.

Who’s your celebrity style crush? Zooey Deschanel. I wish I could just have her wardrobe.

What’s your favourite piece from our current collections?  I’m really liking the Double Layer Jacquard Shift Dress

Do you prefer to shop online or in-store? I did all my Christmas shopping online this year for the sake of convenience, but I’m a traditionalist at heart and I love a good browse through a shop!

If you had to share one piece of fashion advice what would it be? Buy what fits, not what size is listed on the tag.
