Style Challenge: Summer Maternity Clothes

What to wear when you’re pregnant in the summer

We know that summer’s the most challenging time of year to be expecting – while soaring temperatures and sunshine can sound like fun, the reality when you’re pregnant is that it just makes it that little bit harder to look and feel good.

Our maternity collection has lots of summer maternity clothes, lightweight enough to make sure you’re not flagging during a heatwave at home or feeling overdressed when you’re heading off for a beach holiday.

We asked some of our favourite mum-to-be bloggers to style their favourite pieces from our collection

Maternity dresses

Ceri from Life with Bumps took this dress to an afternoon tea party date, which is a perfect occasion for it to be worn.

“The quality of the dress is really good. I ordered my normal pre-pregnancy dress size and it fitted perfectly, as you can see. I styled the dress with a light, timeless and classic rain mac in beige. I also wore some navy patent court shoes and, to complement the look, I wore golden jewellery and a beige suede clutch.”

Abbie from A Beautiful Delight wore this dress for a shopping and lunch event as it’s easy to take on and off when trying on new clothes.

“I opted for a lightweight kimono, white sandals and pink bag for a pop of colour. This dress is really comfortable. The lightweight material is so nice and soft with a waist tie that allows you to the pull the dress in just above your bump, accentuating your figure without any restrictions.”

Maternity tunics

Simone from Married to a Geek styled this tunic with a pair of cream, peep-toe flats and some stretchy denim style jeggings.

“The style of the tunic really helps to smarten up the other items a lot and, because of its length, it helps to cover my ever-growing bum too. The pretty little sleeves help cover up bits that may need to be hidden and the neckline certainly helps to show off the boobies, but without being too revealing!”

Emily from Emily and Indiana picked this tunic, which is perfect if you’re a bit shorter.

“Floral is one of my favourite patterns – you can never go wrong with a bit of floral! I decided to keep it simple and let the top be the key piece of my outfit. I paired it with a pair of black maternity leggings.”
