Donation Station Month: 5 Reasons You Should Donate

Here at M&Co we are proud to continually support Cancer Research UK and the amazing work they do all over the country. Having already raised £2.7 million for the charity, we are excited to continue our efforts and work towards making that number even greater.

This month is Donation Station month and, throughout May, we invite you to make room for new season styles by donating those old, unwanted outfits currently clogging up your wardrobe. Thanks to our amazing customers, last year we managed to collect over 1,500 bags of unwanted clothing, which raised well over £30,000 for Cancer Research UK.

Donation bags are available at your local M&Co store, so, pop down, pick up a bag and start clearing. We want the clothes that you don’t!

There are endless benefits of helping out a good cause and we’re here to tell you why you should get involved in M&Co’s Donation Station month this May.

5 reasons you should donate

It feels good to help others
We don’t have to tell you how good it feels to help those in need and, in this case, it’s no different. By taking an hour or two out of your day to clear out unwanted clothing, you’ll be contributing to bettering the lives of people with cancer all over the UK. If that doesn’t make you feel good, we don’t know what will!

You’ll be supporting an amazing cause
With cancer affecting over 300,000 people every year, it’s not uncommon for us to be personally affected in one way or another. Cancer Research UK save millions of lives each year by discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and, because of their work, the survival rate has doubled over the past forty years. So head down to your local M&Co, pick up a bag and play an important part in helping the UK beat cancer sooner.

Clear out your unwanted clothes
Summer is creeping up quicker than ever and what better time for a complete wardrobe overhaul!? It’s time to throw out the outfits that have seen better days and give away the unworn pieces you’ve been holding on to for too long now. There’s nothing better than opening your wardrobe on a summer’s day to an endless amount of wearable options.

Make room for new season styles
Your wardrobe has been refreshed and there’s now more room than ever. How about filling it back up with some new season styles? We have some gorgeous, on-trend pieces arriving constantly here at M&Co and we think they’ll sit perfectly in your tidy new wardrobe. Why not have a browse around your local store when you drop off your donation bag or you could even check out what’s new on our website? Treat yourself, you deserve it.

It’s good for the environment
Recycling clothing helps the environment in a similar way recycling plastic, paper and bottles etc. does. Recycling unwanted clothing reduces landfill waste as well as the amount of resources needed to produce new clothing. So, if you want to go green this summer, pack up your unwanted goods and take them straight to your nearest M&Co store.

So what are you waiting for? Give your wardrobe a clear out this month and help us raise vital funds for this amazing cause.
